Create a resource

Every kind of resource has its own creation form, described in that service's documentation. This page shows how to reach it.

Choose a type

1. On the Dashboard, choose Create New Resource at the top, or a card under Create a New Resource further down. Create New Resource opens the Create Resource page, which has the same cards.
2. Choose the kind of resource. Database asks once more: PostgreSQL, Vector Store, SQL Server or Key-Value Store.
3. Fill in the form that opens, and create the resource. Most resources take a moment to become ready; follow the status on the resource's page.

You can also start from a service's own list: open the service under Services in the sidebar and choose Create.

The Virtual Machine, Message Bus and External Resource Provisioner cards cannot be chosen; pointing at one shows Coming Soon.

Who sees the create shortcuts

Create New Resource, the Create a New Resource cards and the Create Resource page need a role that may write every kind of resource in the boundary, such as Owner or Contributor. With a role limited to some kinds of resource — Apps Operator, for example — the shortcuts are hidden and the Create Resource page shows Access denied. Start from the service's own list instead.
