Portal
How the portal is laid out — header, sidebar, boundary switcher and documentation panel — and where to find things.
The portal at https://portal.example.com is where you create and manage everything on the platform. You sign in with your platform account; what you then see depends on the roles you hold — menu entries and buttons for things you may not do are hidden or disabled.
The layout

Boundaries and resource groups
Everything you do in the portal happens inside a boundary: the top-level unit that holds resources, members and permissions. The switcher at the top of the sidebar shows the boundary you are working in; the dashboard, All resources, the service lists and the resources the header search finds all come from that boundary only. The portal remembers your choice in this browser.
Within a boundary, resources live in resource groups — production-backend might hold an
app, a PostgreSQL database and a secret vault. Roles can be assigned on a whole boundary, on a
resource group or on a single resource.
Until a boundary is selected — on a new platform, for example — the portal shows a setup wizard or a boundary chooser instead of the layout; see Getting started.
